The truly INN-credible story of how we became family innkeepers began 36 years ago. Georgette and Albert Levis dined at The Wilburton to celebrate his 50th birthday. As the Maître d' poured their wine, Albert said, “This place is magnificent.” The Maître d' said, “It’s for sale” and Albert said, “I’ll buy it!” Georgette fell in the soup. You can hear the full story here in The Wilburton theme song.

The Wilburton has been the best birthday present ever, because it has kept our family collaborating, laughing, working and playing together every single day.

Doctor Albert Levis bought The Wilburton to be a forum to share his discovery on the integration of art and science, psychology, morality, myths, and creativity. He is a psychiatrist, born in Athens, Greece. His childhood experience of the holocaust and civil war in Greece, led him to devote his career to understanding conflict resolution. He is invites guests to tours the Museum of the Creative Process on the grounds of The Wilburton and join weekend retreats on Creativity for Self Discovery.

Georgette Levis was the inspiration for the character Gorgeous in her sister Wendy Wasserstein’s Broadway hit, The Sisters Rosensweig.  She turned The Wilburton into a year-round vacation destination and started the tradition of weddings at The Wilburton. She was beloved by her guests and the community and was the innkeeper for 27 years. Since her passing in 2014, the four Levis children have taken over running The Wilburton, along with Albert.

Melissa manages the lodging and marketing at The Wilburton. Prior to her return to Vermont in 2013, she was an award-winning children’s rock star who led her band, “Moey’s Music Party.” She adores hosting Doggie Slumber Parties at The Wilburton with Jetson, her beloved King Charles Cavalier.

Tajlei is  the director of special events and celebrations at The Wilburton. A former lawyer, she is a playwright who writes and produces The Wilburton’s interactive murder mysteries, Tuesdays in the Tent summer cabaret series and special events including Bridgerton Wilburton theme weekends.

Max is a Harvard scholar and PhD in psychology who teaches at Dartmouth, Bennington College and works for the VA. He knows every aspect of running The Wilburton since he became a family innkeeper at the tender age of 3.

Oliver and his wife Bonnie turned the nearby Levis family home into Earth Sky Time Farm and bakery, one of the most beloved and successful organic farms in Vermont. Their breads are served at the local restaurants, colleges and ski resorts. You can pick up a loaf along with organic vegetables at their farm store 3 miles away. Join them for amazing music festivals at the farm every other Sunday from Memorial Day to the middle of October. They frequently provide catering for Wilburton yoga groups and rehearsal dinners.

The third generation of Levis innkeepers include 7 grandchildren who are also actively involved in running the family inn. Theo is a Fullbright scholar in Athens Greece, Noam is at Cornell. Monty is at Georgetown. Guv is at UVM and Talula and Eden are high school students in Manchester. Elijah, the youngest is 7.

Jetson, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is the very social canine concierge.
